This web application allows you to "optimize" any Wherigo cartridge by downsampling all included JPG images to smaller size and/or changing their quality.

It has not use for playing Wherigo on Garmin Colorado, but it could be useful for PDA with low-resolution display. But it's main purpose is to be used with open wherigo player (OpenWIG), because some older phones (eg. Siemens CX65) are unable to display large images and have limited memory.

Features:

Can resize all types of images.
Can recompress JPEGs to lower quality
Can create OpenWIG.jar from uploaded cartridge (when future versions of OpenWIG will be able to open .gwc directly, this function will by removed)

2009-07-03: optimizer can convert WAV and OGG to MP3. It will probably not save any space in cartridge, but will make it playable on most mobile phones (not all of them support OGG).

Bugs and TODOs:

Cannot recompress BMPs to JPEG, so if some cartridge contains only BMPs, they will be only resized and not recompressed.
