Most of this pages are in Czech language, because only some east-european users are affected with a bugs contained in ATI Player. I will not update this english page too often, so after releasing new version of my patch not all features will be described here immediately.

If you are not interested in this page you can still look at some pictures grabbed with ATI-TV :-)

Important: Don't wast your (any my ;-)) time asking me, whether I know how to use ATI-TV or All-in-Wonder for decoding/descrambling of TV channels. It is probably impossible.

"Connected to audio device only" message

If you have seen above message ("connected to an audio device only. no video capture will be possible") when you tried to capture some videosequence, you probably ask how to get rid of it. Well, it is quite easy when one knows the secret :-)
1. Remove ATI Player (Control Panels | Add/Remove programs | ATI Player ...)
2. Go to registry (Start Menu | Run | regedit.exe)
3. Search for "msvideo<" (yes, that "<" character is part of a search string). You will find it in HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\System\CurrentControlSet\control\MediaResources\msvideo branch.
4. Delete this "msvideo<number>" section (there should be texts containing "ATI" in the right panel of regedit).
5. Install ATI Player
6. That's all

Non-tunable channels

ATI Player has a lot of predefined frequencies for different countries and TV broadcasting systems. Alas it doesn't contain OIRT (CCIR-D) channel definitions. I don't know if any TV station broadcasts at CCIR-D frequencies, but common TV antenne (I don't know the exact term) converts high frequencies (from 3rd TV band) to low ones (1st and 2nd TV band). Czech users cannot receive this channels without changes in ATI Player. Exactly the same situation happens with cable TV -- definitions of S01-S20 are different for CCIR-B and CCIR-D.

ATImisch allows you to redefine channels as you need.

Sound mixer TDA8425

As I've found out, ATI-TV uses TDA8425 circuit for sound processing. This circuit has some nifty features, but you cannot change them with ATI Player (treble/bass settings, independent left/right volume control, stereo processing). If you want to play with this settings, you can download ATImisch.

Tip for the curious ones: Try to append "Debug=yes" into the "[I2CBusDriver]" section of ATIVIDEO.INI :-)

Teletext "noise"

You probably know teletext information is transmitted in invisible TV lines. You usualy cannot see them on common TV receiver, but you can with ATI-TV :-(. It is quite disturbing when you permanently see a few lines of random noise at the top of a screen. In ATImisch you can change the vertical position of a TV image which will get you rid of this noise.

Attention: This patch may in some circumstancies render the ATI player unusable. If this happens restart the computer and after reboot choose "Undo" in ATImisch.

New: ATI Player 4.00 and higher don't need this patch.

Czech teletext

I suppose this patch is of no use for users from any other country than Czech Republic. TV-Online software bundled with ATI-TV card doesn't display czech characters with accents (e with caron, s with caron, u with ring above, o with acute, etc.) correctly. I have added the definitions of czech character with accents into TV-Online.
